Inauguration Mining HUB Belo Horizonte

In January 2019 the Belo Horizonte based Mining HUB, was officially opened. Representatives from mining companies, partners, suppliers and startups attended the inauguration event totaling 250 participants.

The Mining Hub initiative, led by the major mining companies and Neo Ventures in collaboration with IBRAM (Brazilian Mining Institute), is installed in the We Work building in Belo Horizonte and brings together different players from the mining chain, such as suppliers, startups, researchers and investors.

The objectives of the Mining Hub are to foster the open innovation environment; seek external solutions to internal problems; generate positive impact through actions that benefit both operations and stakeholders; accelerate the innovation process in solving known problems.

The first round of call for proposals were in the areas of Operational Efficiency, Alternative Energy Sources, Water Management, Talings Management and Safety.  Selected projects enter a 4 months program to with resources of up to R$ 300.000.
