NBSOs comprise a network of 22 offices in 9 countries, set up by the Ministry of Economic Affairs (via NEA) specifically to support Dutch businesses in their international activities. The NBSOs are particularly effective in supporting small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs). NBSOs have no diplomatic status, are dedicated exclusively to the promotion of Dutch trade and investment and their activities are coordinated by the Dutch Economic Network.
The Dutch Economic Network, formed by the Economic Departments of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Brasília and the Consulates-General in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro – and NBSO Brazil -, identifies cooperation and business opportunities for Dutch companies, organisations, knowledge institutes and higher education institutions, facilitates them in doing business with Brazil and positions the Netherlands by promoting its top sectors.
Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO.nl) encourages entrepreneurs in sustainable, agrarian, innovative and international business. It helps with grants, finding business partners, know-how and compliance with laws and regulations. The aim is to improve opportunities for entrepreneurs and strengthen their position. The Agency works at the instigation of ministries and the European Union. Some activities of the Commodities Boards are also included.
