On the 12th of November 2014 the Netherlands Business Support Office – NBSO Brazil officially opened its office in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais.
NBSO Brazil is a non-diplomatic office of the Dutch government, administrated by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO in Dutch) of the ministry of Economic Affairs, opened in Brazil to identify and present cooperation and business opportunities, and open doors for Dutch enterpreneurs and enterprises in Brazil.
NBSO Brazil is established in Belo Horizonte and has a branche-office in Porto Alegre. The state of Minas Gerais and Southern Brazil are relatively unexplored regions with great potential that offer many opportunities for, cooperation, business and investment with regards to the Dutch sectors of expertise. NSBO will specifically focus on these regions and guide Dutch enterprises with information and contacts in their search for business access.
Together with the Economic Departments of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Brasília and the Consulates-General in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, NBSO forms the Dutch Economic Network in Brazil. The Economic Network provides products, services and tailor made information to Dutch companies, organisations, knowledge institutes and higher education institutions in support of their operations in Brazil.
NBSO was officially opened by Michiel van Erkel, Team Manager Economic Network at RVO, Han Peters, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Brazil and Paul Zwetsloot, Minister Counsellor at the Embassy, together with Marcelo Souza, Secretary for Economic Development of the Municipality of Belo Horizonte, Aguinaldo Diniz, Vice-President of the Minas Gerais Federation of Industries (FIEMG), Chiara Sales, Head of International Affairs of the government of the State of Minas Gerais and other representatives of the locals governments.
NBSO Brazil enjoys the support of the State of Minas Gerais, the Municipality of Belo Horizonte and FIEMG, with which it will cooperate closely to identify possibilities for cooperation and investment.
