BITS 2015

BITS went through a natural evolution to adapt to the IT market since 2010. The previous editions have demonstrated the need to deliver more than an exhibition area and a Congress. Activities in different IT fields were added with high standards to the public and today they have a qualified set of actions. Bits 2015 will provide technology solutions for all segments and want to enter the market or increase their reach in southern Brazil. BITS’ 2014 edition ended with US$ 31 million in confirmed contracts, recorded by 240 companies from 13 countries, business rounds and simultaneous events, bringing together investors from different technology segments. Over 7000 people have walked through the 4,439 sq meters of the event. The Global Conferences gathered 700 participants, who attended national and international lectures.

The city of Porto Alegre was chosen for BITS for its location in the center of Mercosul, due to the proximity to Argentina and Uruguay, also close to the major Brazilian capitals (São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte), plus the fact that (the state of) Rio Grande do Sul has one of the highest standard of living in the country; on top of that, the region is also home to five technology centers – three in Porto Alegre and two in São Leopoldo – like Altus , Dell, HP , Microsoft, SAP and Siemens as an examples. Hannover Fairs Sulamérica, a Deutsche Messe AG group company, organizes BITS – Business IT Summit, in conjunction with the Federation and Center of Industries of the State of Rio Grande do Sul [RS] – FIERGS.
